our story
Oxfordshire Music School was founded in early 2022 by Tom and Emma, with the intention of delivering high-quality music lessons across the county, and introducing more and more people to musical instruments.
Since starting out with a handful of students in the back room of a pub in Abingdon, Oxfordshire Music School has grown to over 150 students across Didcot, Abingdon, Wantage and Wallingford!
Our students have gone from strength to strength, developing their skills on their chosen instrument as well as personal skills such as confidence and teamwork. Many students have joined in with our Live Events at various local festivals and venues. These events give students something to work towards as well as cementing a love for performing. One of our students has even gone on to jam with Ed Sheeran!
At the start of 2023 we introduced drum lessons to our roster, with lots of new talent signing up, so many in fact, that we’ve had to hire another tutor!
Looking to the future, Oxfordshire Music School plan to offer more exciting lessons to our students, and help them develop into the next generation of artists! We’ll be hosting three huge performance events (Christmas, Easter and Summer) as well as appearing at lots of local festivals and events, so there will be lots of opportunities for our students to improve hone their skills!

Tom has 15 years of experience as a professional guitarist playing gigs, recording, and teaching throughout the UK. Tom has a passion for music and loves helping students achieve their goals! Lessons with Tom are relaxed, funny and informative and he will instantly make you feel comfortable whilst studying with Oxfordshire Music School.

Dave is a talented multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, bass and drums to a high standard. Dave has toured the UK and beyond in several original bands for years and is now ready to share his experience with you!

Richard first picked up a guitar 25 years ago and has been regularly playing live and recording with numerous bands ever since. Richard aims to make sessions fun and informative, he believes that there is genuine magic in the joy of playing guitar – there is no better feeling than finally emulating the pioneers and your heroes, all while making amazing sounds!

Jay’s been playing for 20 years. Cutting his teeth as a session musician in London, he then toured the UK and Europe. Jay’s focus is making whatever you’re playing feel and sound great. The groove is top priority.
